Now more and more growerers begin to use greenhouses to grow plants. Simply speaking, there are six differences between greenhouses and open-air planting in terms of environmental conditions.
1. Low illumination
Greenhouse cover, water drop refraction, frame material shading, building orientation change, reduce the transmittance of sunlight. When choosing and purchasing materials for greenhouse material, lighting should be fully taken into account to improve the utilization rate of light energy.
2. Large temperature difference
Under sealed conditions, the temperature difference between day and night can reach 10~20 ℃. Appropriate temperature difference between day and night can increase photosynthesis, reduce respiration and facilitate material accumulation. However, too large temperature difference is not conducive to growth and development.
For the common greenhouse climate control system,it is difficult to avoid the large fluctuation of temperature&humidity. It is more difficult to control the day&night temperature difference precisely. However, this is very important to improve the indoor plants growth.
Now,GLOREEN Growing Climate System can provide you the ideal and precise climate solution.
3. High humidity
During the day, the humidity is low, reaching the lowest at noon, and gradually increasing at night. Even in sunny days, the relative humidity often reaches more than 90%, and lasts for more than 8-9 hours. It provides favorable conditions for the occurrence and spread of various diseases. The grower should pay attention to the disease prevention.
4. CO2 deficiency
From sunrise to 10 o’clock, the carbon dioxide content is low, and from sunset to dawn, the carbon dioxide content is the highest. The consumption of carbon dioxide in the morning accounts for 70% of the daily photosynthesis. Carbon dioxide supplementation in greenhouse is suitable in the morning.
5. Slow airflow
In a closed growing space, the lateral motion of airflow is almost equal to zero, and the longitudinal motion is less active than that in the open field. Plastic greenhouse cultivation must be ventilated artificially to avoid premature senescence of lower leaves, disease and fruit drop caused by poor ventilation.
6. Salt Accumulation in Topsoil
The temperature and soil temperature of the greenhouse are higher than those of the open field, and the evaporation of the soil is large. Salt increases with soil moisture, resulting in the accumulation of salt on the surface of the soil. The longer the cultivation time is, the more salt accumulated in the soil. Growers should pay more attention to these problems.
By the modern soilless planting, the above problem can be solved, too.
